ok, im just curious how many daily drivers are out there? im thinking of replacing my Na and going turbo(swap or buying another supra). however, on another forum someone is telling me its a crazy idea basically. saying the turbo supra will "be on jackstands 3 out of 5 days a week".

i know they have problems just like any other 20 year old car. i didnt think going turbo would add that much more to worry about. beyond keeping the car up on maintenance and dealing with 20 year old parts going out.

any advice/suggestions for daily driver supra turbo?

take care of your car and she will reward u with the same. I do regular check-up, put good oil in it, never rev when cold, let her idle for a bit, and do drive with full throttle, I just take gentle care of her, and she takes the same care to me. Although I've spent about 1 month downtime at Toyota dealership, but that was basicly because of late parts order... ;) I really love my car and I dont have any, I do say ANY problems with her ;)

Drove one for 1.5 years and had a bhg right when i got it. Ran 9-10psi daily with no issues after that. nothing relating to it being turbo went wrong but had p/s leaks and coolant leak, leaks leak leaks but other than that it was fine.

I daily drive my 87 Turbo, and it has been pretty reliable...you just have to make sure you replace just about everything in the engine bay...lol...oh yea, and leaks are seemingly constant.

Just replace every hose, and DON'T USE CHEAP PARTS...lol...that's the biggest mistake I have made with my Supra, cheap parts don't last long at all, and they have the potential to cause a lot of damage, so always go to the dealer when you need parts. ;)

yeah i know what you mean about starting over. my car was stolen. I got good money for it but starting over again sucked. Had to do the HG again and replace all the same crap i did before. But its a nicer car then i had so im happy now. Im sure you'll feel the same when its all said and done.

Jonathan is right. Even Toyota hoses are way better than aftermarket. New Toyota heater hoses will probably outlast the car lol.
