Just curious what PSI that stock CT26 died at? Or is it from coked bearings, and then the exducer side sheared off?

Does not appear it was spooled up to max when it failed, so I'm going with the coked bearings theory. (What does the oil drain side look like? I bet it's caked with coked/baked on oil deposits.)

Owie!!! That looks like it hurt...a lot! I wonder what it's like to be a turbo...

I would guess it's kind of hot being a turbo :icon_razz

MDC, if you want it. I don't know what broken turbo's go for these days.

Mine failed in the same manner. Made the most horrible grinding noise too

Mine whined for about 2 weeks, then on the way home it made some horrific noises and then the boost gauge wouldn't come out of vacumn. It sucked, then I had to finish going up this huge hill with no turbo :(

And yes, it does have something in common with the Sillycar.
