You don't need a bypass for a 1JZ, it has no mass air.

Use any BOV you want. You can get HKS, TurboXS, and other brands to fit in the factory location on the twins.

BOV, or bypass valves on the 1JZ ususally bolt to the stock location on the intake pipes, alternatively they come with a replacement pipe for the one going to the throttle body.

How do you know you need a bypass valve? There's already one on the car, and it works pretty good.

a turbo XS from a EVO is a direct fit for the 1JZ.. You can get em used for nothing. The hose size is the same as the 1j. I got one for $20 bux for my old DD that i sold.

fuck dude just block it off. Compressor surge doesnt hurt the turbos too much, they just wear out a bit faster is all. Not to mention you get to keep boost between shifts, AND it sounds a lot cooler than any BOV's out there, IMO. I've run no BOV on three of my cars, and the fastest I've had a turbo wear out was in six months, because the turbo had a shit ton of miles on it to begin with.

It does sound cool, that is true. I can't imagine it keeping boost between shifts though. Yes, it will keep pressure within the piping, but it will also force the turbocharger to spool down, which might actually lose yo usome boost once you open the throttle again.

And if you don't think surge is dangerous, talk to my brother who snapped the shaft on his T3.

you do lose some, but it doesnt go back to +/-0 psi when you throttle off. and I've never had the turbo break like that when I was surging, but I have heard a few horror stories like that. I usually use cheap throw-away turbos, so its never bothered me all that much. and if he's going to just be using the stock twins, he shouldnt be too appauled if they get torn apart.
