I bought a '89 turbo supra for my wife, and I'm having a new motor installed. They've got the motor in, but when they crank it the turbo is blowing out oil. I haven't seen it doing this, it's just what they called and told me. Is there any way of fixing this without buying a new turbo? Also, how hard is it to remove a turbo? I'm thinking about giving her mine and buying me a slightly larger turbo. Thanks for all you help in advance.

Well it could be a pcv system sucking too much oil and putting it into the itake track.

A couple of alternatives are a turbo rebuild, a good used turbo, or buying one new from a mfg or aftermarket company.

thanks MDC, so the only way to fix it is to rebuild it? I was hoping there was a little easier way, but knew there wouldnt be.( easier meaning, less expensive)

i had this problem and rebuild my turbo....still had the problem....it was my rings :(

also i went thru two(2) O2 sensors thanks to it, so if you fix it make sure you know what it is ;)

to answer your question removing a turbo is not that difficult but do your self a favor and buy a SS oil line ahead of time!!

my turbo works perfect, so can I use my oil line? Does SS stand for supra sport? sorry to sound so unintelligent, but I've never had to work on my supra. I've been pretty fortunate from what I've read on here.
