turbo blanket with internal wastegate?

so i just bought a turbo blanket for my 92' supra but my turbo runs an internal wastegate. i have heard of people cutting slits in the blanket for the rod, anybody done this? pics? opinions? ideas?

i have heard some times the blanket can cause the door to stick open some times

not on supra but another car

well really it can happen if turbo can not shead heat it will expand and cause the door to get sticky

I had this happen to me but with header wrap happy now kai


and if you cover your turbo to much you will bake the oil in the secter section like another person i know and blow you turbo's seals


in other words use the stock heat shield if you can

If the Turbine housing expands the WG shaft get's loser...

I ran Ceramic Coated, header wrap and a blanket and never suffered any of this Mystery Oil baking and seal failure...
(seriously where do you pull this garbage from?)

They make blankets for IG Turbos that already have a cutout for the arm...

chads turbo got cooked from dei old school turbo bag from him wrapping the hole back side in coulding center section his was oil cooled t3/t4 60 of some sort 1.5jz

what now has a gt3582 if i remember right

I ran header wrap on my turbo and after some long twisting roads with heavy pull's the gate would stick open after awhile
this was on 57 ct26

removed wrap it whent away
