Turbo and turbo elbow

So im changing my headgasket and im trying to ship out my turbo to get it rebuilt while its off the car...i cant mannage to seperate the elbow from the turbo...anyone got a trick..??

Rubber mallet and penetrating oil.....

if heat doesn't work, or if the bolts are already off and it's just the fact that the two are stuck together, some people say to get a BFH [big f*@#in hammer] and a screwdriver... don't quote me on that though. i just read it in an earlier thread posted by someone havin the same problem.

yea the bolts are off...they wernt as bad as i thought....i just havent been able to seperate them yet...i will be trying heat and a big hammer this weekend

yeah had this happen to my brothers factory exhaust, on a long trip the hot side of the turbo would get white hot and welded the two together using the gasket as flux, we used a 20lb sledge and a chisel, than when it was big enough to get a crowbar in there, we pryed it apart, still didnt want to come off. GL

i am having the very same problem...i plan on using a oxy-mds torch and just make the sucker red hot...should just glide off at that point.
