My turbo seals in my car is gone. I have a 88 supra turbo and I am getting my turbo rebuilt to the 57 trim. I am also getting this items; lexus afm, 550 injectors, aem afpr, walpro 255 fuel pump, aem uego, boost controller and gauge, to go along with the upgraded turbo. Will I need anything else to get the car running good, like any tuning devices, or will I be able to just plug and play. I probably will keep the boost around 10-12psi only. Thanks for answering this noob question.

Not sure how great the car ran before the seals went, but assuming okay, it should run good for awhile....until you throw enough boost at a tired engine to have other problems anyways. As long as you have the wideband you will be able to keep the car running happy AFR's without a tuning device with those mods. However, if you're trying to leak out every bit of HP and want to lean up the mixture more than the stock ECU will let you thats where tuning devices come in. Turbo seals can simply get old, but a likely cause of them going out is improper maintainence, keep that in mind.

You can get your car running good with those mods alone. Only thing is you'll be running rich under wide open throttle, and won't have the ability to lean out the mixture for maximum performance. That's not really a bad thing considering that's what it does stock. Piggybacks give you the ability to play with your fuel mixture in open loop operation. Stock computer does a good job keeping the fuel mixture in order in closed loop. You just have to set your fuel pressure right in accordance with monitoring the fuel trim tapping into E1 & Vf1 with a voltmeter.

I keep good maintence on the car. I think it blew because I raised the boost by shimming the wastegate cause I was going to get it rebuilt anyways. After hitting fuel cut twice, the seal blew. Not sure how much psi I was getting but its more than 8 psi.

I wasn't aware that a turbo seal could fail due to fuel cut. Maybe it was just the turbos time to expire. It just so happened to do so when you were raising the boost.

I would like to tune it in the future to try to get as much as I can from the mods. What kind of fuel management tuning devices do you guys recommend that is easy to use?

safc is pretty simple but also leaves a lot of stuff on the table. an emanage can control fuel and timing but I wouldn't advise playing with timing unless you know what to do.
