So I was reading driftin_supra's thread HERE, and started thinking about tubular subframes. I don't know of anyone that commercially produces these for MK3's, and I was thinking it would be kinda cool.

I spoke with the guys at BMR Fabrication and have a call scheduled with one of their designers on Monday to discuss if they're interested. They do domestic stuff almost exclusively (as you'll see from their web page), but are looking to break into the import market. I can attest to the quality of their stuff, one of my buddies is running BMR chassis parts in his 800hp camaro.

First, am I wrong, and there are some out there?

Second, how many people would be interested and what would you be willing to pay for one if they were available?

I'd like to tell the guys at BMR that there is a market for these, but I don't want to be lying. Also, are there any other tubular chassis parts that you guys would want?

Thanks!

here is how you approach this

One you get the ball rolling, you prototype, guinea pig etc what is needed. What this means is that if you are dreaming, stop. If you are dead serious, that means flipping the initial bill YOURSELF.

Once you have the product on hand, and if it works, then you get the intrest thread going.

Otherwise this is setup for failure if you are depending on anyone except yourself to get this going.

An example of this

Me with the ATI harmonic dampner. I paid out of my own pocket the creation and prototyping of the first one. Got product on hand. Took pictures. Sent email to the guys I knew would appreciate this, even at the high initial price. They tested, everybody likes, now anyone can buy without group buy etc.

so as such.

Closing thread as no product and guaging "intrest" leads to dreaming threads.
