Trying to recapture the fun... 1987 MKIII Turbo

HI,
The car has been garaged since 06 with a bad A340E automatic transmission. Original owner is a friend who purchased it new and kept it garaged. It has 116,000 miles.
I have been reading the forums here and learned a lot already.
I am hoping to get some solid advice on the questions I have about the parts etc.
This is going to be our daily drive once back in the road.
Am selling the 86 420sel... Just sold my 1970 240Z Datsun (owned since '71) to raise money to put the Supra back in the road.

Other interest are fast cars, great women . Married to the best one now for 8 years, blues sax... former school band director/music teacher, and hot air ballooning and aviation. The ballooning has paid the bills for 35 years, still pressing my nose against sky anytime the weather allows. Presently doing a bus conversion for a balloon retrieve vehicle.
The wrenched are always turning on something around here.

Well.. you will find Supra gods in these forums and asking will be your best first path. I have found out tons just from reading. I am not a mechanical god, nor am I good at body work, but I have rebuilt engines and transmissions as well as maintaining cars by myself. If I knew half of what I know after being in this (and other) Supra forums.. back when I first started, I would have saved myself a lot of headache and done things once instead of 2-3 times..

Excellent that you are getting the info first. The car is worth it.

Welcome to the forums, Bob. Sounds like you are a man with interesting hobbies and skills! I've found tons of info on this & other forums just by using the search features. And when that fails, I find that the folks here on SM will usually provide good info if you provide them with an intelligent & well thought out question. In fact, I am just an hour or two away from putting some of that info to good use!
