I cant seem hook up my intercooler piping to this turbo.
I bought a 90 degree alum elbow im hopes to weld it on and get the outlet away from the exhaust manifold and away from the frame but i only have 1/8 of an inch to work with :(

If you wels a spacer or two to the flange on the header to lift the turbo up a bit higher it will not hit the header tube so that you can cog it a little more down

It's hard to tell from the pic, but can't you just clock the compressor housing straight down and put an elbow on it? Or would it hit the exhaust manifold?

I bought an Ebay header for my 2jz. When i bolted my turbo on, same problem. Options are to clock it way high over the intake tube, or like what i did, and what 525gte suggested, i weled on 2 additional 3/8 flanges to get the turbo high enough for the cold side housing to rotate down. Now Im able to use a 90* coupler there.

I just had to pull my header off from an exhuast leak at cylinder 5. I ended up haivng to weld up all the ports to get more of a gasket match. The problem is the 2j has a smaller circle port of 2/5 than the more oval ports on the rest. Number 5 was ported like ther rest so the header flange port was actually larger than the gasket.

You can see by the blackened area around the gasket just how bad the match is.
