Hey i was wondering if there wasa trick to removing and replacing the hard plastic inter cooler pipe that goes from next to the aribox down through the fender to the inter cooler. I removed this from a friends supra for my swap and the only way it came out was with brute force, luckily it didn't break. It seems no matter which way uyou twist and turn it, it doesn't have a position where it comes out. It hits the support next to the radiator or it hits the overflow tank under the fender. Any help would be great so i can get this into my car. Thanks

I just did this Friday -- I had the bumper off, but, I ended up getting it rotated to where the ear where the body mounting bracket attaches to is pointing down toward the bottom point of the fender hole, work it around the harness, and it shoudl come out that end...but remember, I didn't have a bumper in the way, either...

taking the fender off is a bitch same with the front bumper if they have never been off. i would say take the splash shields off and give it a shot. i would think you would be able to get it in there. but then again i have never tried. that just how i would go about it.

When I first GTE swapped, I simply wriggled it in from the top. When I sold the stock IC pipes a while later, I simply wriggled it around, back and forth, up and down, and it came out with little fuss...

:dunno:

Pre-89 is two piece, 89+ is one piece and a complete and utter nightmare to remove.

I didn't remove my bumper, but I did unbolt that side from the fender and bend the bumper out (it's barely flexable enough).

If I where to do it again I'd remove the bumper (it's easier than you think as you can just unbold the entire assembly from the ends of the framerails)

If that's true, then I had the '89+ pipe on my car...

Why not just cut it and make a new one. That plastic piece is going to crack, it's just a matter of time!! Perfect time to upgrade!
