I noticed that in the top banner, that someone has the TRD shift knob in their car. I was just wondering how this was possible, because according to the TRD website, the knob does not fit JZ/MA70-80's. Did they have to do a custom fit? I've wanted one of these shift knobs, but I don't want to do custom work to get one on.

I'd imagine its just a matter of either changing the thread/size of the shaft if it screws on, or using set screws to hold it on...

its a shift knob, I doubt much intese fabrication is required.

or you could find out what it fits and graft the top 1/2 of that shifter to the bottom half of a ma70 shifter. was considering doing that to get the hks shift knob from a honda to work

I've got one that fits perfect, made for the car and ae86. TRD came out w/ them in limited amounts a number of years ago - for a hefty price. There were three designs i've seen, a leather one similar to stock (little bigger head), a round ball design(ugly), and another i can't remember off hand, maybe carbon. check ebay - once in agreat while they are on there, beware of imitations. Originals were around $100 from TRD Usa when available.

That is Jeff Langes car, and yes the TRD shift knob threads fine onto a stock shifter. Call Champion Toyota, that's where Jeff got his and where I'm probably going to get mine from....when I have some money to actually buy it.

All Toyotas use the same thread pitch and size. The TRD knobs fit the Supra just fine. In fact I think the package even said MA70 on it, but I can't remember for sure.

Yeah, that first one is what I want. :icon_razz

It fits/looks great. I like it much better than the stock knob. Got mine from a TRD Short Shifter for 94-99 Celicas(out of my wrecked 95).

Only problem is the TRD badge on the side is starting to fall off(after 3+ years of daily driving and sitting in the sun), but that can be fixed with some good glue.
