Im starting a 1jz swap into a 89+ MA70 targa chassis, the engine i have is a soarer 1jz with traction control. is there much difference in the traction control model of the 1jz

i've read up on most the other infomation with the soarer 1jz swap threads.

That's pretty odd considering when I replaced my TB on my old car, it came from a soarer and it did NOT have TRC.

They are all interchangeable, but why would you even want to use it?

I don't recall Soarer 1JZ TTs having TRC. Maybe you got a chaser/mark II motor... which would be front sump along with a few other parts that you'll have to change to make it work in a Supra.

No it won't affect running. It MIGHT throw a code if it can't see the secondary TPS, so you may want to leave that connected.

I don't know why you wouldn't want it. I would love to have traction control on my car. :)

nope, rear sump 1jzgte with TRC.. i dont really want to use TRC tho.. was considering just cutting that butterfly out and welding it up.

this wont affect how it runs?

You're right. Nvm. :)

I've seen someone remove the butterfly and use the port for a BOV before.

Or leaving it there shouldn't give you any issues. MKIV guys delete the TRC all the time and leave the butterfly there.

You could always scout the FS section and ebay for a non TRC throttle body. Should be easy enough to find one.

From my understanding reading SF MKIV section, the TRC is more trouble than it's worth. If I could search, I'd have more info to tell you about it. But well... you know:nono:

A race logic traction control system... Now that's a different story. :)

does anyone know how it recognises traction lose? does it hook into ABS somehow? if so.. if i dont use the 1jz abs computer.. i wont have TRC? or even if i unplug the abs ecu completely will that stop TRC?

lol i know my chances of this being answered is slim to none.. but thought id ask anyhow.
