Well, I searched first and found that three of the ten threads on slipping transmissions were made by me. Two for my car and one for my wifes car. I have since switched mine to a five speed, but now my wifes is acting up.

Replaced head gasket and cam seals. Car ran perfect, but was still leaking out of the cam seals. Replaced with toyota cam seals , no oil, but now the car is slipping when you take off. Felt like it was retarding the timing at first, cause it had no power. I still get a code 52 and I've tried everything to fix that. When you get going, you can punch it and it definately slips a good bit. It feels like it slips mostly in second, but it may be getting gradually worse. I'm going to drive it again in a little while and see for sure that it's not a timing issue. The car starts up perfect and purrs like a kitten, so I doubt it's that. I checked the gears and their both perfect with the bottom on 0.

Everything on this car is practically new, but I can't seem to get the bugs out of it. New motor, new paint, new tires, new wheels, new seals, new transmission filter, new mp3 player...............why does it keep finding something else to break? I've already found another transmission, but it's like five hours away. I'd rather take a beating than drive five hours. I'm getting one heck of a deal on the tranny though. Hopefully there's nothing wrong with it. (That he doesn't know about.)

Any suggestions would be appreciated..............lol

It's definately the tranny. Punch it in drive, you get high rpm's no tire spinnage. Punch it in reverse, high rpm's, major tire spinnage.............:icon_cry: ....

You do a manual test of the tranny to see if its mechanical or electrical problems?

It could be the clutches, as a matter of fact, I'm sure it's the clutches. It could be a solenoid also, but I'm not a transmission expert. I'm getting pretty good at removing and reinstalling though. I don't know if you noticed, but it's an automatic......................lol

He stripped you of the title, but not the "winner" status. You will always be that.

As for your problem, I know next to nothing about automatics except that when they start slipping...they umm..........need fixing!?

When they start slipping
They probably need fixing
You've got your WeezlWings
I've got my Vixxen

Mines in the mail
Hopefully I get them tomorrow
I'll be excited as hell
Instead of all this sorrow.

Then I'll have Wings
And I'll have Vixxen
Nothing else in my life
Will ever need fixing.......................lol

It's late here and I'm sleepy, so I apologize for the lame rhyme. When get sleepy, my brain doesn't function so well. Actually it never functions well, but even less when I'm sleepy.............lol

ROFL!

Dude, stick to fixin cars!

Try this on for size:

I dont know if was Nietzsche or Nero
But this guy in a Supra became my new hero
He tried his hand at making a rhyme
The problem it seemed? Not enough time!
You see, it was a transmission he was fixin'
but it wasnt for him
It was for his Vixen

The Ride of the Month title had recently passed
A new winner was announced
It wouldnt be the last
Every month they come and they go
This last month was for the chronically slow
proud as he was of da89Soup
I have my WeezLWings
You aint got POOP!

When I was younger I would make ryhmes about anything. Now I'm lucky to form a coherent sentence................:biglaugh:

I got the tranny out last night, and I'm going to get the other one this morning. Hopefully I'll have it running by this afternoon. I'm going to go ahead and replace the rear main seal while I've got the tranny out............lol
