transmission shifting hard/ high RPMS

just got my 87 NA/auto STOCK back form the paint shop....i know they didnt mess with it so dont blame them....im driving it and its shifthing at higher RPMS and shifitng hard...also the RPMS tend to be higher than 3k before its at 10-15 mph....then it will shift at like 4500.....and when i let go it starts to deaclerate real fast....then when i accelrate again it hesitates and the RPMS jump first then it catches and the car goes again.... any one know what to do??? since my computer is down and i cant go on this one much....please give me a call 520-331-0822 -Mo.......it would be very appreciated.

Check for codes! I would also check the fluid. If it hasn't been changed in awhile dirty fluid could cause problems such as this.

I might be off but I had a ford van that would do the same damn thing, and a tune up goes along way. Especially if you don't know the last time it was done.
