Hey guys, this is day number two since I started my rebuilt engine and Thank God everything went well (with the engine).... I have a few vacum leaks somewere and basically just minor stuff keeping it from running smooth....The problem here is the transmission... Its an auto so I have to connect the shifter to the control shaft lever on the transmission, but it does not reach.... I have been told maybe I bent the shifter when removing the engine and transmission out of the car but I dont remember ever struggling with it. I friend of mine was the one who unhooked things up under there and I am pretty sure he unbolted the shifter from lever before removal or else it should have snapped right off.... In an atempt to see if everything is ok I decided to make a custom link and bolt each end to it in order to shift safel from inside the car and see if we could move this car on its own. Problem now is the tranny does not engage in any gear. It seems to be in park since the car starts but when shifting into any other gear the wheels stay locked as if the tranny stays in parked..... Ive put it on all gears and nothing. The engines just seems to just rev as if it were in park on all gears. If anyone has any input on this it would be greatly appriciated, its been a fustrating headache so far and I really dont want to take this car to tranny shop for the fear they end up driving it around crazy and messing up an engine that has not been broken in yet.... Here is Dereks aka JDMA70's documentation video of the start up lol.... Towards the end we try and move the car only to stand still.... http://www.megavideo.com/?v=8N2UYTM3.......
Thanks to all who have read this and to all with any input on this problem...
