Ok, I yanked my dead trans out. Then I tore it apart. Some bolt and internal bracket came loose, and ran around inside the trans until it came to a stop in the shift selector area that controls the forks. It put the shift fork shafts in a bind, and caused the shift linkage to pop out of the control area when I tried to make it go in gear. After I removed the crap that was broken, the trans goes in gears fine and when spun it engages the gears correctly now ????

Crazy stuff :)

the gears and syncros look flawless.. I'll get plenty of pics and post up. The trans is a lot simpler inside that I thought it would be.

make sure to see if inside edge of the syncrows are still knife sharp. If not they will not do their job (the cut threw the oil to syncronise the brass syncrow to the gear it self). If its not sharp anymore they should be replaced!

I state AGAIN, I'm not going to run this trans. I am going to pick my new trans up, and put it in. I am going to rebuild this one later. When I do rebuild it, I will get lots of pics and do a good write up.

I will take pics of the disassembly process to get inside and post up before then for you guys. I am waiting until time to rebuild to disassemble the shafts and gears, to avoid losing parts or forgeting where stuff goes.

I'll get this up for you guys after christmas.

And justin, I'll be down there soon enough, provided my car stops acting a fool.
