i know the manual turbo and n/a are different...turbo is R156 (bulletproof) and the n/a is a w56 but idk what its limits are

no idea on the autos, but i know they have limits too

haha....turbo 5spd = r-154, n/a 5spd = w58 (obviously the turbo tranny holds more) I know that the auto's are a340's (a340e? I think is the mkiv auto) not too sure on that
I don't think the r-154 is completely indestructible (actually I know it's not) but I'm pretty sure they'll hold quite a bit of power

for the most part you'll are right about the R154 being bullitproof, but they are known to have thrust washer/bearing problems. the W58 is a strong tranny, I have ran one with over 400rwhp with no problem and at that same time, I have seen people blow up R154's with stock HP. It all comes down to what type of clutch you are using and your shifting habbits. another thing to keep in mind is the weight of the car.
