Yes, you can put a trailer hitch on it, I have one.

No, I would not suggest towing anything that big - mine works fine for a bike rack, and I've seen people tow the ultra small trailers that carry 4 race tires and a toolbox, but anything larger than that would put a LOT of stress on the rear bumper, that the hitch mounts to.

oh, those jackstands look pretty friggin skinny. I wish i had 2 more jack stands :(

edit:
posted here instead of making a nwe post.

Care to enlighten us on the proper jack stand positioning technique?

I had my entire rear end at like a 15 or 20 degree angle last night almost to the point of my front bumper scraping the ground and it was support by 2 jack stands on the stock jack points for changing tires :x i really want to know the safe spot to jack our cars up..

Heaviest thing I've towed with the Supra was a new Milling machine :)

1100 kgs/2425 lbs.

It did it easily!

The hitch will be fine, I have a small jet ski trailer that I built a platform on and use it to haul my gokart, but I have also hauled other things on it, somewhere I have a picture of a huge load of siding I had on there that had to be at least 2000#. I would be more worried about trying to launch the jet ski into the water with a supra, at least from the boat launches around here. I have been tempted to try it with my supra, but the though of getting stuck on the lauch with the car half in the water scares me off every time.

I come from a land down under
It's actually a production part here in Australia and bolts up without modding the car in anyway! (I worked as a towbar fitter as a kid and rang one of my contacts on the off chance that they existed and was shocked when they did!)

Look at this picture, This is the new tow truck of choice in some cities. Not that I would do it. but it can be done.. God help him if he needs to stop quickly..I think it has trailer brakes so it may not be that hairy.....

From it's low operational cost and it's ability to split the lanes and get to the scene faster , it is smart. On all other counts, it's retarded
