Tps

hey all,
im going to give you a little backround..
Im a Honda guy, but I sold my car and Im looking for something i can DD reliably and I came across a MKIII (gte) and its in pretty good shape and he's only asking 2000$ for it. I went to look at the car it drove and ran fine (minus a little rough idle and it idled at 1k rpm). The car isnt showing codes on the light and im assuming the light is broken. Under the hood i didnt hear any weird clicks, valve lash, or any weird noise. No blown head gasket, oil seemed to be normal no discolor. The TPS is currently unplugged because when it's plugged in the car wont rev past 2-3k rpm. My question is what would cause the car to do so? I test drove with it unplugged and it jerks a little bit at low rpm but once you're going it seems like it drives just fine.
Questions I hope the readers can help me with.
1. Will I be able to DD this safely to work and back (3 miles)
2. How would I go about fixing the TPS issue
3. Do you think this is a good deal for it being a running and driving car?
I understand I may have left some details out but any help is very much appreciated, thanks all and have a great day.

Buying a 25 year old sports car as a daily driver is not a wise decision. If you want the car go for it but be prepared to walk that 3 miles every now and then.

1 - Already stated my opinion.
2 - TPS could need to be adjusted, if adjustment doesn't fix it then it will need to be replaced. Instructions Here (if you buy the car bookmark that site)
3 - With no pictures, mileage, year... no one would be able to determine that for you. For reference most cars with major problems are in the $800 - 1200 range, slight issues are in the 2k range, decent everything around 3-4k, perfect around 5-6k. (from what I've seen for sale/sold)
