Here it goes:

I just did a HG on my 90 turbo with 140K on it. I have my cooling problems sorted out after rebuilding pretty much the entire cooling system. Of course when you fix one thing on a supra that was poorly maintained, another "challenge" rears its ugly head.

I have an interesting problem: when I am cruising, accelerating lightly, or coasting, there is a dead spot in the gas pedal, the car doesn't stall, just basically goes back to idle then surges then idles. My speedometer is also about 20 to 30 MPH off. The car also Idles on the high side at about 1100RPM. I have tried to adjust the idle, with no results.
Could these be related?

Sure they could!! Sounds like your TPS needs to be adjusted.. I had a similar issue where I would idle through the parking lot and when the tps(gas pedal) got to a certain point it felt like I just let off the pedal. I adjusted the TPS and that spot is gone..

yep, most likely the TPS needs adjusting. Sound like you are hitting the (what toyota call fuel cut RPM) when setup and working correctly, it to chut fuel of during coasting situations to save on fuel.
