Towing A Supra Without Rotors or Suspension?

Hey guys,

Picking up a shell this weekend, but am unsure how to go about towing it.

There are no camber bars or traction bars on the front and rears. There is no suspension on the front and rears either. Only the rears have rotors on them. The hubs are still on the car though.

What is the best way to tow this? I am in a rush to figure this out. I know you guys can help me out.

Thanks!

it has the control arms in place correct? just jack it up by the frame so the arms sag.. place the wood between the frame and arm and let the weight down on it.

I'm not sure about the control arms still being on. I havent been able to reach the guy yet today to ask. It's been a while since I've seen the car, so I forget what's on it. Do towing companies not have dollies for things like this?

Alright, just got a pointer from a tow company. Since only the hubs are on the car, he said to wrap the hubs with something as to not get damaged and just drag the car onto the flatbed.

Any suggestions what I should put under the hubs?

I am pretty unfamiliar with what can and can't be done with the Supra. Can I put the wheels on the hubs and roll the car without any other components? No suspension?, traction bars, camber bars etc?

The tow guy is retarded for suggesting that, hit him with a brick.

Fixitman04's advice is sound.

LOL always a good idea. other option is to run lift bars under the car and put it on and off the trailer with a crane/hiab

I'm still trying to figure out how I would run wood with a tire to roll it onto a flat bed. So draggin the hubs with something protecting it is a bad idea? I have to have this done for tomorrow afternoon. All this advice is greatly appreciated.

Any other suggestions?

dragging a car on a deck is just a bad idea, something will end up bent/wrecked. fine if you just throwing the shell away, but if your gonna re-build it then you need to be a bit more carefull. you can, jack it up and use a block of wood to hold the car up when you put tires on it.

or this comes to mind, though may cost a bit more to move.

Run wood, what? No. Where the shock/spring goes is where you'll put a 4x4 vertically from the lower control arm to the shock mount.

Place tire on, torque down, roll onto flat bed.

Ok I think I know what you mean. That makes sense. Anyone happen to have a picture of what it would look like just for reference?

The problem with this is, you risk damaging the underbelly of the car. The floorpan will be fine, but there are a few little brackets and whatnot for various things. Also, dragging 3000 pounds isn't easy with no wheels...

that could work,

Well, I'm hoping so. Some guy told me to go to U-Haul and get some 3 foot wide casters? I looked online and all I could find on the website was 3 foot wide furniture dollies. I am wondering if he thought the same. Will be giving him a call first thing in the morning to ask.
