Has anyone had any success mixing toulene with 93 octane pump gas to raise overall fuel octane level to about 105 octane? Also, is any mixing of lubricant required with the toulene and pump-gas mix?

I don't think you have to mix anything, my friend had a stock honda accord and would use like 3 cans of octane booster, and actually made a difference.

Jessetooslow.... SILENCE!!!!

I have had great success running half & half. 100 octaine sunoco & straight tolulene.

Tolulene is a straight fuel. It has no oxygen.

Word of caution though: Buying the stuff straight from the local hardware store or paint shop will result in you having your license copied and you put on a local "meth watch" in most states.

Where do you get it MDC?

I'm not too worried buying in bulk from the paint store if I can... Not like I have a meth lab to hide, is there a better place though?

I really hope this is a joke?
Read up on what high octane does to a stock vehicle, and read up on those 12oz. "octane booster's" you'll find in the fine print for most of them, one bottle (for a discount $3) add's 3 points to the fuel... That's .3 octane, not 3 octane.

Coming from the kid with a stock 98 Grand Am I had to work with... No wonder he was fired after a few weeks from wheels falling off cars on the highway.

Figgie:

The indy cars never ran tolulene.

The F1 cars did. They were 80-90 tolulene, and 10-20% "filler".

They did this because they were running 40-60psi+ of boost, and making over 1400hp off 3 litres for an entire race.

84% tolulene and 16% n-heptane. i thought the reason they ran the filler tho was to comply with the octane rules.

If I remember correctly, my fuel tank capacity is 16 gallons. So, I'm thinking 6.4 gallons of toulene with 22.4oz of ATF (to add lubrication to toulene) all being mixed with 9.6 gallons of 93 octane Chevron gas. I'm hoping this will allow me to run at least 21psi with my small to4e hybrid turbo (aka TE-44 buick grand national turbo). What do you all think? :1zhelp:

yeah makes sense now. i just read what you said about the filler wrong, or thought maybe we were talkin about 2 different fillers or something. i know you are more familiar w/ indy/f1 than i which is why i was asking to make sure :)
