Is this common problem? I notice it happens a lot when i full throttle it will almost lock me out of a gear, it just won't get into gear and if it does it takes quite a bit of arm strength. Happened tonight with second and fourth on different races facing a 'vette. Mostly happens when trying to get into 2nd.

EDIT: i may have found a solution, well an alternative atleast. I found that when i hit the clutch hard and fast it will not prevent from going into gear as much/as often. Its smoother and easier transition when i do this.....but why??

ITS THE SYNCROS.. mine does this to in 2nd gear...you need a new one.. mostlikely used the wrong kind of oil and messed it up.. thats what happened in mine.

putting the right kind of oil in and allowing the surfaces to wear back in works...

I've had normal oil, Royal Purple Max Gear, Royal Purple Synchromax, and now Red Line MT-90...

normal oil it ground a bit, max gear was about the same, synchromax it ground like none other, the red line never grinds...

over 150K miles...

Solution......well so far..........topped off the fluid. Turned out it was low 1 FULL QUART!!! So far it seems to be tip top, smooth as butter, but we'll see

but why was it low?

Well, TBO, i'm not exactly sure. I called up the previous owner to talk with him about when he last changed it and told me during installation of other parts it leaked out some. He never topped it off and told me i should just in case if not change it. So when i went to top it off it turned out it was a quart low :aigo:

I will still be looking into the clutch line though, there may be a bulge of somekind though, with the added pressure of the RPS clutch and 3200lb pressure plate i may need to upgrade to steel lines

redline MT-90, sounds like some good stuff, Mine recently started getting harder to shift, replaced master and slave w/ solid line... Sounds like a 175k fluid change is in order :)

you have no idea...

it's made to allow the syncros to work properly, and it's a full synthetic...

IwantMKIII: I hope you have better luck with your clutch than other people...

so far so good, a bit grabby. Awhile ago i had a huge problem with it, it would vibrate the whole car VIOLENTLY and grind grind grind it sounded like! did it on several different starts that night. The next day....it fixed itself?????? Other than that though...
