I'm looking to buy a torque wrench for the rebuild I have planned but I don't know what range of torque capacities I need. I would assume the head torque would most likely be the highest but I don't know how low it needs to go. I was hoping to only need one wrench but will get both if need be.

A Snap-On 1/4 inch torque wrench ranges from 40-200 inch/lbs.

The 3/8 ranges from 15-100 ft/lbs.

The 1/2 ranges from 20-250 ft/lbs.

Just guessing here, but I'd say the crank bolt has the highest torque spec, not the head bolts ;).

I've got a 1/2" drive Craftsman torque wrech that goes to 250 ft/lbs and a beam torque wrench for the lower torque ratings needed for the smaller things ;)

I come from a land down under
I have 2 of the big ones, one I got as a Christmas present when I was 15 and one I inherited from the Old guy that taught me motors.

I leave the older one in the car for the lugnuts ;)

Good tools last pretty well forever if you look after them and it's nice having the correct tool for the job at hand anytime you need it.
