Anyone remember what they torque the pressure plate to there flywheel? I torqued mine to 30 foot pounds and one of the holes on my aluminum fly wheel striped out. I think theres a good possibility that its could of been a bad flywheel. My clutch exploded around a few weeks ago which i think may of sent alot of vibration threw those bolts leading into my flywheel. Anyways let me know what you think i should torque them to. I have a new flywheel on the way.

thanks

matt

30 ft/lbs? isn't that overkill? i thought torquing a pp to the flywheel was only like 15 ft/lbs with thread lock?

One of my other buddies said the same thing... If you calculate it out 15 in/lbs is like 2 ft/lbs which makes no since. I think there instructions is for a universal application. I should of done more research before i installed it. The fly wheel needed replaced anyways because when the clutch exploded the first time the springs from the pressure plate bent around the clutch and took chunks out of my flywheel. The machine shop i took the flywheel turned it out and said it was still in balance so i figured i would try to use it.

doom: yes it's critical, as going over that will actually STRETCH the bolts badly (I have botls to prove this)

I own 2 torque wrenches just because of this...
