Torque help!

I just put together my 7MGE now i have put arp studs! Whats the correct torque for this set up? I have read that using the torque specs from the manual was not a good idea! I would appreciate any suggestions. thanks

Did you use a stock replacement head gasket? if so 75 lbs should be good enough. If you replaced it with a metal head gasket anywhere from 80-90 lbs.

if you bought the studs new there is a piece of paper in the box with them and it tells you what to torque them to.

hey Ian do you happen to know what ARP recommends for torque on the main studs? i had my motor built at a shop and they installed them but i want to make sure they are all torqued right. but since the shop installed them i do not have the paperwork but i do know that they used the supplied moly lube.

Same as the head bolts from memory, same size studs m12x1.25.

really? 80lbs? i didnt think it would be that high, rod bolts are only 45.. but thanks, ill check them.

Most times it's based on the diameter and thread pitch of the fastener if they're not TTY.

Yeah, i always buy new arp head bolts for every rebuild. ;]

But i never knew that stock headbolts were NOT TTY. Good to know. THANKS IJ!
