So guys, I have a decision to make and i need your guys's input. Basically I have a 1jz torn apart in my basement and a CLEAN 89 mk3 turbo shell with harness, tranny(w58), all that good stuff, 500$ with harness, all i would need is the igniter throttle cable and i'm sure i'm missing some, (already have the rear sump oil pan) (2jz water pump). Anyway If i go the 1jz route i have a machinist quote me on a full rebuild, for 1500$, that's parts included. Add another 1500$ for turbo, misc parts ( i already have injectors, exaust, ). I'd also do the harness myself if i went that route.. I'm going in the coast guard in the next 6 months so i'm trying to cram this. I'd be selling my dirt bike and my sport bike to fund this fairly quickly. Second option..Guy wants to trade a 01 lexus is300 with an auto tranny but the catch is the tranny is out. So i was thinking about doing that.. pulling the 2jz and na-t build for let's say 1600$ and drop it in and bolt it up and be done.. Is it that easy or is wiring a bitch also? And I feel i'd save alot of time and money going that route.. What do you guys think? GOAL 400whp so i think w58 will be okay for now.
