I have finaly got the legendary "Rod-Knock".... I know its probably not my rods but it is coming from the top end! Im going to be boosted in the future so im thinking of new, rods, bearings, lifters, and a metal HKS head gasket.

My question is... Are there any aftermarket upgrades, like a HKS head kit or anything like that? Also since im going turbo should i do the pistons also so i get the 8.4:1 ratio?

Please help any comments are welcome!

sounds like your going to do a rebuild so your options are open.
and if your going turbo, you could either put a turbo on your N/A parts, and still use the higher compresion pistons if you'd like, ive just herd no more than 12-15 psi to stay away from detionation (but no more if needed, thats plenty of power!) and you can run the N/A's electronics with a turbo, but risky.

or if you do have rod-knock, your in trouble, you might need a new crank and it'd be a extensive rebuild. but if not, and your getting new rods and pistons anyway you could get turbo rods and the lower comp. pistons and you'd basicly have a turbo engine,(w/o the externals of coruse)
or you could do a complete swap to a JDM GTE(turbo)

its alot of info but good luck!

and about the head kit, ive never herd of one but all you might need to do is re shim the lifters. the sound your hearing might the gap in the cam and lifter

Isn't this the na section?? Honestly thought I may had clicked new posts and went for a wrong turn. Ask the turbo guys who deal with those things and know the intimate loop holes. Not to be an ass, Just anti-turbo.

87: before you do anything, make sure you read the FAQ on rod knock in the tech section (here). What you're describing might be something really minor so no sense getting worried if it's not actually rod knock.

If you've already read it, my apologies.
