Took the Supra to Portland International Raceway tonight. I made 5 passes before being kicked out for being too loud (91 db). Here's my time slips. I figured out when I should launch, but only bested 13.864 seconds at 103.62 MPH with an RT of .586 (my best RT was .129 on my last pass). I'm going back tomorrow to put down as many passes as possible, and this time I'm bringing my silencer so I can run past 10PM.

I'm not sure what's going on with my times.

It's your 60' times. They kinda stink ;)

Get the 60s to the 1.9-2.0 range, make a clean pass, and theres your 1/2 second.

You got kicked off of a drag strip for being too loud..................WTF?

Yet one more reason I'm glad I live in the south. The only rules we have at our track is:
1: If you're quicker than a 7.0 in the 1/8th, you have to wear a helmet.
2: If you have a passenger in the car with you, they have to wear their seatbelt.
3: We have no tech. We drive up and race.

I'm not saying it's better or worse, but I'm glad it's the way it is.

Most tracks that are in the vicinity of actual people have noise regulations.

Times are not too shabby. As Bryan said, work on the 60 foot.

Man I saw you run and beat the mustang I believe it was. I was rooting for you, good runs!! I was chilling in the stands at one point with James (Blue 93 MKIV w/ the just completed 6-speed). What time do the drags start tomorrow evening? I'm rally-x'ing my 85 Supra down in Hillsboro/Beaverton and might stop back by and watch if it's not too late (gotta be up for work around 5.00am ya know).

Maybe the stock 4 door honduhs with 5 drunk teenagers just can't get any track time there Jay? They have to make it fair and get the race cars outta the way.

Like a few others have alredy told you, its the 60' times that really help your et. Watch someone with a turbo car make a solo pass, when all they're trying to do is get there et down, and you'll see that they go when boost is up, not just when the tree goes to green.

You were only four tenths of a second from losing to a girl..............in a mustang..........:biglaugh:

I've lost to my wife twice, but fortunately she was in a turbo'd supra......if I ever lose to a girl in a mustang..............I'll slice both my wrists, cut open my nut sac and bleed to death very very slowly.......................

What kind of clutch are you going with? I know of a Canadian friend of mine that is selling a seven layer multin disc.........or twin disc.........:biglaugh:

I won't be putting in a new clutch for a while. I want to pay off a major loan first (couple months), and I'm considering doing a TH400 swap. Not sure yet, but for now the debt comes first. And with my busy schedule, that's a very good idea.
