Toda Hi lift cams 264 10.3mm(7mgte)

I have the opportunity get a hold of a pair of Toda 264 degree 10.3mm lift cams in. and exh. Has anyone ever tried running a set like this (10 mm+ lift)ton their 7mgte? Obviously ugraded valve springs/ valve train componants are needed as well as proper clearancing of the pistons. I'd like to hear some personal experience of people who have actually attempted this. Thanks

they are just big cams for big air.

you must have a total head package to actually take advantage of them...much less a boost upgrade!

They will idle funky....but they are great on top end.

some people say the TODA's are "untunable"......I find that retarded. They are just HUGE lobes for deep high rpm breathing ( =more HP).

Stock lift is 7.6mm (.300) the duration is 199 @ .050. So to go to 10.3 (.405) @ ?? duration you will need port work. The reason I say this is the stock 7M head flows almost same number at .300 as it does at .450 +3-6cfm. If it is a great deal get them. Just know you need to do a few things to use them. Are you sure they are Todas and not T.E.D. Components cams (specs for KK108 number 3 below)?

I know todaracing.com doesn't show a listing for 10.3 mm lift cams for the 7mg in their site. However i'm quite sure these are infact Toda cams

I decided to purchase this set of toda cams. I guess i'll just have to start playin around with the spare engine first. Later, i will find out how the stock ecu, hks vpc, gcc + f-con/550 chip setup will react with the use of these cams.

I did a search on T E D and found nothing.

I wouldn't put those cams in a street car. I also wouldn't try to run them with a speed density piggyback. I have the TRD "Group A" cams in my GTE, slightly more agressive than the ones you are asking about. They make for a pretty poor street car but can be alot more fun at the track.

Use the 1SZ-FE shimless buckets and Ferrea springs and retainers like I did or check out what Allan used in his killer GE. Either way, you'll need to clearance the lifter bores in the head for the camshaft lobes or ovrbore them for larger lifters or something along those lines.
