Targa off and you'll get a bit of flex, but it still handles quite well, it's just different.

Targa on and it's nearly as stiff as the hardtop. Some people say the targa is stiffer with the top on, others say the hardtop is stiffer.

Personally, once you run without the top on you'll love it and you'll pray for nice weather to do it in...

It's up to you, but personally I waited until I found the combo I was after...

^^werd top off is totally worth it. and being a guy who is interested in corners more then stoplight to stoplight stuff I think the car is really stiff with the top on and stiff enough with it off - but you can tell the difference!

I can never get enough of the wind through my hair on those summer drives. Having a targa also gives the excuse to "retire" the ties you don't like and go out and get a replacement.

Targa off and you'll get a shit load of flex...it's just heavier.

Targa on, and it's still not nearly as stiff as the hardtop. Some chuckleheads say the targa is stiffer with the top on, people who know say the hardtop is much stiffer.

Hardtop is for someone who wants a lighter MKIII & also for some one who wants the hardest to find MKIV a 1995 is verry hard to find one if you can buy it.

Targa is more cosmetic leaks heavier

The best or the compromise is 1990+ with slidding moon roof buy that one you get the best of both! & is the rarest MKIII

targas are great.........till its raining one day and you hit the brakes and water gets dumpped all over your lap :)

i love targas but honestly i dont take it off as much as i use too. kinda just got over it i guess.

but as for choosing one id prolly go with the targa i rather have it and use it every blue moon than not have it at all.

Even with the targa off the chassis doesn't flex nearly as bad as an 80's mustang or f-body...

Who cares if it's heavier? If you want a fast rolling tincan go buy a stripped out CRX with an engine swap, I'll keep my nice, heavy, plush, LUXURY GT CAR.

Hardtops doesnt rust under the targa seals :evil2:

Had a 89 Targa, was like the body was a part of the suspension.
Now a have a 90 HT with working ac and this car seems way stiffer than my old car.

the targa is one of my favorite features of a supra. i would never buy a ht. my current targa doesnt leak, it has all new seals.
