As the title says this is directed to people who ship things for the next month and half to 2 months. You will be the death of me. 150,000 boxs in 1 shift already and should be pushing closer to 170,000+ by friday and hitting a peak of 500,000 by Dec 23. Instead of my normal work hours of 18-25 hrs I'm doing over 50(on the plus side time and a half most of it) I have already but in 18 hours so far and still have 3 days left. That is way at UPS they call this time Peak Season.

Just to give you an idea why it seems some boxs get damaged and others don't average night for me is 800-1000 boxs loaded but I was at 1400 and could have easily been over 1600. This was done is a 48' trailer in 4hrs. Most of these boxs weigh over 20lbs and can hit 150lbs. I have already but in 18 hours so far and still have 3 days left. If you think that 1400 boxs in 4 hours is not bad it is alot worse than it sounds. That is moving 425 an hour. The pace that is set is 1 box every 7 secs in this time we have to read the zip scan the bar code load it into the wall and start it over again. This is also with peolpe screaming at you alarms going off and it being only 30 degress in the trailer. This will end my rant now and go wonder off in my world.

No offense, but welcome to every job that deals with consumers... I work retail... it is something that you dread every year... I have no pity as I work at the largest consumer electronics retailer in the country...

Oh I'm not bitching with what I heard the bonus for doubling in dec is:icon_bigg And also found out that I will be changing spots from loading to being a pickoff at the end of peak and most days untill then will start there.

The reason why I put that here is yesterday kept getting slammed and hit right and left even with 2 scanners and power loaders barley keeping up with the flow.

So today I'm in a much better mood and happy as hell with my job and life.

Wah STFU try being the guy who is delivering it. We have over FOUR MILLION additional packages in the Fed Ex ground system our loaders hand load three p1200's per loader today we had 16 trailers come in at 2 am and where empty by 7am all done by guys with no overtime pay or bennies . We the drivers get to slop thru the mud ,lush, and shit just trying to stay warm. I have a pinched nerve in my back and two cracked ribs because some lazy fuctard didnt sweep his walkway but I cant goto the doc till after peak because no one can handle my route . So Woo Hoo for you what the hell did you expect working in the shipping industry at christmas time......Tard
