As the title says this is directed to people who ship things for the next month and half to 2 months. You will be the death of me. 150,000 boxs in 1 shift already and should be pushing closer to 170,000+ by friday and hitting a peak of 500,000 by Dec 23. Instead of my normal work hours of 18-25 hrs I'm doing over 50(on the plus side time and a half most of it) I have already but in 18 hours so far and still have 3 days left. That is way at UPS they call this time Peak Season.
Just to give you an idea why it seems some boxs get damaged and others don't average night for me is 800-1000 boxs loaded but I was at 1400 and could have easily been over 1600. This was done is a 48' trailer in 4hrs. Most of these boxs weigh over 20lbs and can hit 150lbs. I have already but in 18 hours so far and still have 3 days left. If you think that 1400 boxs in 4 hours is not bad it is alot worse than it sounds. That is moving 425 an hour. The pace that is set is 1 box every 7 secs in this time we have to read the zip scan the bar code load it into the wall and start it over again. This is also with peolpe screaming at you alarms going off and it being only 30 degress in the trailer. This will end my rant now and go wonder off in my world.
