I HAVE A 1988 TOYOTA SUPRA NON-TURBO THAT HAS 205/55/R16 TIRES.I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS THE WIDEST TIRE SIZE I CAN PUT ON MY FACTORY RIMS.I KNOW THAT I CAN PUT ON 225/55/R16.BUT I HAVE A TIRE FETISH AND LIKE WIDE LOOKING TIRES THAT GIVE IT A MUSCLE CAR LOOK.

I run 245-50/16's F1's on mine I love em. I've had to rotate them either, this is the second set of goodyears I've had.

245/50's are as wide as you should go on stock rims, but I have heard 265's will fit, but there are some sidwall issues w/regard to safety and performance.

What about if you had wider rims what would be the biggest recommended for the rear end before clearance issues would happen? What size would be biggest and best for performance and looks. Because I'm looking at some dunlop's that are 275's and was wondering if they'd fit an stock rear end with 8.5" wide rims.

current set up: 255/40-17 (front) 315/35-17(rear)

old set up:
stock saw blades 225 (front) 245(rear regular tires) or 255/50-16 bfg dr's (rear)...
saw blades with mickey et streets 26x10.5-16(rear) <- i think??

sry no pics from either set up other wise i'd post up but im sure you get the idea. . . .
