Okay, I have a knock meter, with my T66 turned up to 15 PSI I get some slight knock on the NA-T in 3rd. If I leave it at 13 its fine. (either way its insaine as you saw in the video at 9PSI) My question is... Would it be better to try and retard the timing a few deg or turn the turbo down? What would be the most HP efficient way? I think its about 2 HP for every degree of retard. The turbo is about 10 HP for every pound. Im not sure how much id have to retard in order to have an effect on knock anyone know? and what do u think would be more HP effective higher boost lower timing or higher timing and lower boost?

Second question... :icon_bigg

7M GE = 9-10 deg

7M GTE = More then 12 deg

Its the same motor with just different compression ratios and the intake manifold is different so why the big change? Something to do with compression ratio??

The reason I ask is my NA-T has all turbo parts except for the block and head so should I run GE or GTE timing?

I am no expert, but here is my take:

1) I would leave the timing set to 10 degrees and back the boost down to 13 and or adjust your maftpro to add more fuel at WOT.

2) I believe they are both set to 10 degrees, but once the jumper is removed it is up to what ecu you are using to determine where the timing is set by the ecu. But I may be wrong here..

Free bump till the *experts get here..

whenever I jump mine the before and after timing is always the same! thats what I dont understad! I set it to 10 with it jumped then its still 10 when the jumper is pulled. I know the jumper is working because I can get engine codes from it

Is the ecu a GTE or GE? If it's a GE, then it's normal as per #9 of the tsrm.. If it is a GTE, Hopefully an expert will be here soon to help you. :)

its a GTE but I dont really care I can still set it, thats not one of my questions, what is the true timing I should set it to with my NA-T? 12 deg after the jumper is pulled?
