I have rebuild 7mgte with about 3k miles on it, with intercooling, intake and exhaust upgrades as well, and the compression ratio has been lowered a bit because I'm using 1.6 mhg. I'm borrowing a friends actron Advance analyzer with 0 to 60 advance dial. I was wondering how do I use this to figure what timing I'm at. Do i set it at zero or somewhere else? Also any suggestions on where my timing should be or do i keep it at 10 BTDC, currently at 6psi (7 in 5th gear) but soon will get a DDP and read that the psi will rise to about 10-12psi with stock waste gate control setup

Someone WILL correct me if I'm wrong, but with an adjustable timing light, you set the advance to what you want(10 degrees),
And time the cps so that the timing mark is on TDC.

Yeah, you can either set the light to 0 and line up the crankshaft mark to 10 on the timing cover, or set the light to 10 and line up the crankshaft mark to 0 on the timing cover. Either will do the exact same thing. Make sure you place a jumper between pins T and E1 in the diagnostic box and verify the check engine light is flashing before you start adjusting anything.
