timing question

when doing timing is it necessary to remove the cam gears like the directions states when switching timing beltsand all that other stuff or can i just line up all the timing marks remove belt and put new belt on, and do i have to retime the cps to or no

use the tsrm for backup if you are changing the timing belt you have to take off the crankshaft pulley and covers. to expose the belt before you pull the crankshaft pulley ensure they are properly aligned cranfshaft pulley should be at 0 degrees the cam should be aligned with the notch on the back plate. good luck and have fun
