I thought my timing light was dead but it works fine on my NA supra. Can't get a signal out of it. Cylinder #1 is firing but just cant pick it up. Changed plugs and wires too.

Ive had the same problem... I switched to an inline timing light that actually plugs into the #1 wire, and then plugs on the #1 plug.
You have to really move it around and try different angles and clip positions and eventually you will get it

My snap-on with inductive pickup works fine, as does my old(1979) Sun timing light(also with inductive pickup). Maybe that means my insulation is breaking down...........
i have and old-ass crapsman one and it works fine.. although my plug wires are dated 1997.. :3d_frown:
