i finally got a timing light today a checked my timing and as i though it was like -25 btdc. so we adjust it to where its -10 and we give her a test run well feels good for the first take off the i give her some throttle and just as soon as boost picks up ....splat she falls on her face. so thinking i did something wrong i go on and try it again once again it starts to boost and then feels like someone has a chain hooked to the back of the car stopping me. so we come home and set it to -15 and it does it again except it doesn't do it as bad. when i had it at -25 it pulled fine but would misfire and sputter sometimes but it would boost fine. anyideas as to whats wrong.

Are you sure your plug wires are in the right order, and that the coil pack plugs are in the right order?

I want to warn you not to run the car like that. On my last DD, I was in a rush to leave town but thought I would give her a quick tune up. I ended up setting the timing wrong and it did the same thing your car is doing. I was already on the road by the time I realized it was messed up. A few miles down the road the car started making a funny noise so I pulled over to see what was going on. I had blown the oil pan gasket out from the increase in crank case psi. It lost all the oil, and spun a bearing. If it wouldn't have blown the pan gasket, it would have blown out the main seals or whatever was the weakest link. Sad thing was I rebuilt that motor a few years pryer an it ran great. So just wanted to warn you, so we don't see another supra suffer rod knock.

Yeah, it sounds to me like your crank pully has slipped on it's keyed center.
The only way to verify your timing is to pull a spark plug and rotate the motor by hand. When the cylinder reaches TDC, put a big fatty mark on the crank pully. Set your timing with the new fatty mark and it should run much better.

well i was reding on toymods wher another 1g owner had the same trouble and he was running his at -20. but the only prob he had was the idle was too high, so he set it at -10 and it ran like shat. so he jumpered the tE1 and E1 and then set the timing at -15, and he said it was running perfect. they also called this being earthed ??? is this something i should do?

when you set timing you have to jumper the diag block, you doop!

but check your crank pulley just in case. a local guy here is having the same problem, and we think thats what it is.
