I'm doing a headgasket on my car and since its going to be another week that i get my headgasket I might aswell do the timing belt. At first i wasn't because it didn't look bad at all, but now that i have the time i might as well.

One problem Toyota as discontinued timing belts for our cars, so whats the next best thing, besides the $180 greddy belt.(its only a belt now)

Just wondering what brands do you people use or is like I said its only a belt???

Thanx for the help in advance.

who told you the timing belt was discontinued? if your toyota dealer dosnt want to get it for you go ask tony in the bronx. im sure he can get one for you. just picked up a new HG from him for very very cheap. called him this morning, he had it a few hours later.

PM me for his contact info if you want it.

On ebay right now and at any time infact, you can buy a timing belt and tensioner from toyota, still in the toyota packaging, for only $70 US funds. It's a pretty sick deal.

Lagged- the toyota dealership in yonkers by cross county said to my friend when he went to pick up some parts for me. Tomorrow i will give them a call and see what happens.

I'm i better off with a toyota belt or could i just use a aftermarket one. What am i better off doing? Does it realy matter? I want the best for my baby.

I'd go with the greddy one if you want the best. In the description it claims to use some special stuff to make it amazingly long lasting.
