My 7m-gte likes 12 deg, made 15whp more then at stock 10 deg.

Hm, maybe that's because it was turbo charged. I remember Bishop raising the timing on his N/A but I don't know if it was effective or not.

id do it just because it *might* be better.

It can make a difference in responsiveness and gain you a few HP. Push it too far and you'll knock like hell if you don't use high enough octane gas though. IIRC, someone was running ~25ºBTDC on a GE... I think it was on that *other* forum. Sounds crazy to me.

I run 14º and there is a difference. Not huge, but I can tell.

so....10degrees is standard, but 12 to 14 is good for both more hp/torque and miles per litre?

back in my NA days i ran 16 degrees of advance....really woke the car up. just be sure to run good gas....

16* btdc is a lot of advance. 94 octane? in an n/a? haha

There are a few people I've heard who run 16 degrees at around 91-93 octane, and if this even raises MPG...I'm definitely doing this one
