i'm bad, i'm nationwide
some of you already know that i'm working on a sbc swap into a supra..

now that half of you have stopped reading this,i need an opinion from the reat of y'all

my problem is that i have two cars planned for this molestation, but i have a goal of having one done in time for vegas, so i'll hace to concentrate on that one first.

the victims are a 90targa, or my 84 mk2. they each have advantages and disadvantages

90...hey, it's topless! also an easier swap, and better aftermarket support for the brakes and suspension, wheels, ect.but it's heavier, needs more bodywork, and has been done several times before

84..a lot lighter, and i kinna like the bodystyle a little better. but it will require a dry sump setup to make it work, it'll be more work to get it done. but the body is very straight, think will liik really good when done...

btw, both cars are going to get done, i'mjust tring to decide which one gets done first

any thoughts?

Do the MkII...that'll give you more time to come to your senses on the MkIII. :D J/K...but I'd seriously do the MkII first.

I agree for both of those reasons. Also because so much lighter, It would be a lot more fun to drive IMO.
I'm not so sure you would need to be dry sump. Moroso, Canton and others, make many styles of pans, for many kinds of racing. I have seen some with kickouts to the sides and the sump moved way up so you can mount the engine very low to the ground.

tig...i've looked at the pans from those companys, the closest thing that will work would be the pan for the 4x4 sbc s10 swaps, and even that dosen't look like it's gonna work. i've been talking to a duy in cs, he's working on sbc swap as well, he's got a buddy with said conversion gonna measure it up when he gets a minute, but i have my doubts after being under the thing all day.

k...there is more to chevy life than lsx motors.i mayuse one in the future, but not now.look at this months phr mag....447 hp on rebuilt 350 truck motor, 3500 complete oilpan to carb? daily driveable on cheap pump gas?can a 7m be rebuilt, and then brought up to those power levels for the same money?(autozone quoted me 3400 for one of their 7m rebuilds the other day....and i'm betting you aint gettin mhg for that)

i'm thinking that would be just about right for the mk3...and overkill for the mk2.

and before someone brings it up, please don't tell me it's not a supra anymore, especially when you tell your buddys how cool someones ride sporting crower rods and slugs, ferrah valvetrain, and gasp chevy th350 trans is.how "pure" are those cars?
