Buy a complete engine set from a reputable company. If its missing one thing, its probably missing more. Spend the extra money and buy from a better place. I wish I had.

dude contact them and make sure you do complete inventory on whats missing cause you dont want time to be against you. ECU's are hard to find and range from 200 to 500 depending if they have been modded. I went with DM and got a engine set with a SARD tuned ecu.

Tiger japanese , on their website , states clearly they don't guarantee whether you will receive an uncut harness.
When I ordered my 2JZ, it came prety quick from them and was delivered straight to my house for a good price. Harness was complete but ecu was missing, which they credited me for after I called them and without any hassles.
You will definitely have to make sure you get everything before your swap no matter who you get it from.
At least they checked back with you and let you know the engine was crap which means they do test their engines which is good.

So they have a low compression engie with a M/T with ecu as well as a good compression engine with no M/T and ecu?

Why not request the new engine and have them include the M/T and ecu from the other setup?

I have been to their shop, they have tons of engines/trans/front clips lying around. I am sure they have more than one R154/1jz ecu somewhere in that shop.

I bought an engine from them (7M) a few years ago that ended up having a seized oil pump and developed rod knock after 20 minutes of use. However, they stood by their warranty and replaced it (with installation) at no extra cost to me other than a tow charge.

It is a hit and miss when buying any used engine if you don't plan on rebuilding it before using it. I recomend purchasing an engine from the closest shop (as in distance) to your location just in case any issues arise. It is pretty easy for them to bullshit you on the phone but its entirely different if you can visit them in person.

^good point. at least we know they do test there engines now. i have looked at some swaps from jarco and they give you everything you could need. it looked like more actually. even including stock ic and pipes. they even have a clip of the car running before they chop it. i haven't really check out dm though. they are a lot closer to me though so its good to know there legit.

I had a GREAT experiance with JHOT. Give them a call.

Price was 2k shipped to my door, downside was that there was no hydrofan stuff.

I've ordered from Jhot and Jarco before (not engines, but rather large items) and have nothing but positive things to say about them...

seems to be the same with 240 guys...
