just had my tial get stuck open on me will see about posting some pics tonight it only has 2500miles or less on it!!!! Right now it's stuck open so it's loud out of the dump pipe
i boost all the time, and it is a real tial, i hate knockoffs. I am about to look into it but i know they have a option for valves for use with race gas just not sure of what size so i will check the web. I purchased it from precision so it is real. Went to the dyno yesterday and used race gas so we will see and yeah thank god not stuck closed
I know with the 38mm's you had to specify that you wanted a different valve for use with leaded race gas. I thought that all 44's could use race gas.
I dont think it would fail using race gas on the dyno, ususally it takes a few tanks run through it(non RG valve) before they failed. And yea at least it failed open, way better than overboosting and blowing your shit up.
saw some abuse on the dyno and sat in my tool box for 3 months i expect to find carbon on the shaft but i shit my pants when it happend i know what it feels like to melt a piston not good. Too bad though i wanted a stiffer spring anyway
wow...so much for swearing by the TIal....by so many. well all mechanical things will fail eventually. It could be many # of things as the cause for sure.
verdict is in and... wastegate did not fail. Part of the manifold broke off and got stuck in the valve oops. Now i spent alot of time porting to avoid something like this and it still happens. Part of the divider broke off and lodged itself so keep your tial it's the shixx :icon_surp
