so i go to move my car back into the garage, i hit the clutch pedal and i feel something snap and the pedal goes all the way to the floor :sarcasm: "hmmm thats nice" the day before i will actually get my car tuned. So im guessing its the throw out bearing because i've been hearing a noise and believe it was that. Theres nothing leaking and its full with fluid. Soooo any ideas?

Supra...never fails to fail.

Push on the clutch again and see if it gets rock hard. If it does then I had the same thing happen to me. The snap ring came off the back side of the throwout bearing. I bought a new hub and all the snap rings from Toyota.

Uhhh why not check the clutch pedal itself. Make sure the cotter pin that holds the pin from the clutch master cylinder to pedal is still there.

betcha it's the throwout bearing assembly

It's pretty cheap to buy all the parts brand new from toyota, and follow the TSRM to the letter when assembling it.

If it's not done to the letter, it WILL fail, it's just a question of WHEN.

yea thats wat i was fearing...
welp its not the pedal checked that really quick sunday. I didnt have much time to look at the car but i will try to start taking things apart this weekend. I'm x-ing my fingers and hoping its something like the slave cylinder or master. But im sure its the throw out bearing, i really dun wanna drop the tranny again seeing how i was going to replace it when the new block came in. Ah well.

The inspection cover is just 2 bolts and would answer your questions :)

Just take off the cover and have a friend hit the clutch.

Car is in garage about 15mins from me and have no time during the week so this will hafta wait until weekend. I know the throw out bearing was going so i will be ordering one anyway. Was planning on replacing it when the other block was done and ready to go in.

thanks eman.

hahaha....wow, so i go to the garage before work (had to pick something up really quick) jack up the car and take a look through the inspection window(s), first thought was like...wtf looks like something blew up in there. I see the clutch fork and something else, i stick my hand in there and take out the clutch fork, ok that seems to be fine...go back in there and wat do u know its the pivot along with a piece of the tranny that it bolts on to...atleast from what i can remember it does bolt onto the tranny correct? Well the thing just snapped...talk about force. Here's a pic.

Sweet. I can't remember - is the broken part actually part of the bellhousing, or is it 1/2 of something that bolts to the bellhousing?
