to start off, i have a JDM engine with manual transmission. my throttle cable was chewed up pretty bad so I just got a new one from a member on here. i just went to put it in and its not long enough. when i attach the end of the cable into the little hole the plate is open quite a bit (so much that when i started my car up it revved really high). any ideas? please help as soooon as possible. I need to fix this before tomorrow morning.

how did you hook it up? did you use the jdm throttle body, or the usdm one? cause one is designed for the pushrod linkage (usdm), and one goes straight to the throttle body (jdm). not to mention they are different lengths cause one is for lhd, and the other rhd.

i'm pretty sure you need a usdm cable to work, and should probably throw your other usdm throttle body on, or at least rig up a usdm cable to go to the throttle body.

Well i didnt do the swap myself so im not sure about what parts are on it. Im pretty sure its the jdm throttle body because it sure looks like its designed for a lhd. the throttle cable has a sharp bend in it to make it around to the driver side firewall. i was just reading up on the differences and it said to use a usdm cable and im sure thats what i have. the cable that was on it before was cut and it looks like a piece was added to make it longer or something. i was dumb and didnt really specify when buying the new throttle cable so im not really sure. its the exact same, its just that its not long enough.

well i have a usdm cable, but not the throttle body or brackets. i read that the turbo and n/a cables are different sizes. the body/chassis of my car is n/a but my engine is turbo. so should I get a usdm n/a cable?

also just read that some 4 runner cable will work even better? know anything about this?

yea he also suggested using a 90's 4 runner cable and said that would work even better than his setup. anyone else have experience with this cable. i really dont wnat to have to swap out the tb.
