Wondering what people think of Delphi injectors... Saw some 850cc injectors for less than $450 shipped... Worth it? Or shit?

Thanks,
Jake

IJ, since Im going stand alone, should I go with 1000cc or 850cc injectors to reach my power goal?

And will I have bad gas mileage?

I come from a land down under
Jake: Rough injector sizing>

500cc per minute is approximately equal to 49lbs per hour which is equal to approximately 100hp.(so 6x 500's would do 600hp)

I think 850's would be fine for your goals and not be running on the ragged edge for duty cycle.

Mileage will depend on tune with most standalones being quite sophisticated these days you should be able to get it pretty good!

I'm pretty sure RC has a section on injector sizing it would be worth a look!

(ps. can you remove a couple of the haha's from your sig it's giving my screen stretch marks ;) )

Here ya go a link>>

http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm#WORKSHEET

<edit> Just ran the numbers there and at 80% duty it comes up with 858 cc injectors.

*is that better for ya IJ? lol... (shortened the HA's, lol)*

Im willing to sacrifice gas mileage for 700hp bro...

From what Ive read, you can pretty much count on getting about 1hp for every "cc" of injector... Which makes sense, because my 550s gave me 512 in 3rd gear, abou t540 in the 4th gear, before reaching duty cycle... I think 850s should work fine... My fear is that when I hit 700+hp, Im going to want more and my 850s wont give it to me... So should I just go 1000's and be done with it?

Guess it depends if you're going to want more Jake!

Not a big price difference between 850's and 1000+ but again it's NOT an area I'd cheap out on!

Might be an idea to ask some of the Mk4 guys what their drivability and off idle response is like on big injectors!

re: hahaa much better thanks! :)

Reign Maker, I would not go so big with the fuel injectors until you need them. Big injectors are just going to make tuning that much harder. By the time your goals reach over 700rwhp, you will be so deep in money from all the headwork/cams/clutches, that fuel injectors would be such a minor expense. I beleive 720's will suit your needs for a long while.

BTW, I have heard people using Delphis without any problems. Actually, I'm pretty sure DR J uses them.

There used to be acomapny selling the for dirt cheap

880cc with pig tails for 420 shipped. They since no longer exist.

Money=not an issue for me... Seriously, when you hear the terms, SPARE NO EXSPENSE... Thats the angle Im taking on this build... Im going with at least 850cc injectors... I refuse to be held back from my goal from something like an injector... I dont care how hard it is to tune 850s, because I can bet someone somewhere can tune it for me... :D

ive sold delphi injectors for almost 3yrs now. over 100 supras running them from just dave and i. sound performance uses them on their fuel kit. i have had the 580cc and 680cc on my car for 3yrs, and have yet to hear 1 single problem w/ them from anyone that runs them.
