For those who have ran the SSQV vented to the atmosphere, what did your vaccuum read?

Like many others, my car idles like shit (normal range 600-700 and stalls easily) and the vac gauge fluctuates from 10-12 at idle. Otherwise the car runs fine, boosts well and everything. Did it significantly improve (eg: go back to normal vac range of 18-22 at idle)?

Yur car prbably idles like shit because you have a vacuum leak somewhere... Look for a hole, loose vacuum connection, or popped vacuum line...

thats not a vacuum leak. the BOV will have no effect on your idle.

a few things can cause your car to idle like shit and have a low vacuum reading. vacuum leak (most likely), a blown head gasket, bad AFM (check codes) and the list goes on.

Supposedly the SSQV is impossible to leak, unless your fitting is bad, its part of the design. I'm running it and idle fine, 20 vac. My EGR system used to be bad and that was making me idle really bad might check that.

with only -10 for vacuum, you definately have a vacuum leak. it's not the BOV. my vacuum is at -21.

That might be your dash pot acting up or your bov isnt getting a good vacuum to pull it open... Maybe loosen the screw in the back of the bov... If that doesnt work, adjust your dashpot...

I've checked all the hoses for vac leaks, used throttle cleaner to see if it got sucked in anywhere and I still haven't found anything. I took it to the shop and they gave it a quick look (and also did the throttle cleaner spray). He said one of the possibilities, was that the valves may be too tight or something to that effect.

This is all weird as last tuesday the car was running absolutely perfect, idle at -21, boost was strong and all. Then it all turned bad when I raced from a light, that little grey connector to the starter got unplugged and the idling turned to shit!
