if it were completely up to me, it would be summer time, or at least summer like weather all year round. (part of the reason why i plan to move to san diego within the next 2 to 3 years...)
however there is one part of the school year that i dare to say i love the most, above all other things:
college bars.
it is at these places where a large amount of (drunk) college girls can be found. one other interesting phenomena is that, during the school year when hundreds of local college students are ready to get to drinkin, bars tend to "forget" to card underaged students before entry into 21 only bars. (all bars in NYC actually are 21 and above, outside of the city 18 to enter, 21 to drink)
within this already chaotic, but wonderful situation i have managed to find what is quite possibly THE best bar that has ever existed. mind you, this is a bar. not a dance club, not a bar with a dance floor. simply a great place for all your friends to gather 'round and have a nice pitcher (or 8) of beer.
the jolly tinker
this place, ladies and gentlemen is the type of bar which is hard to find now a days. on a regular weekend night it is not uncommon to enter the bar, and as soon as you open the door, be bombarded with the entire bar singing along to bon jovi's "livin on a prayer" , now, who really likes bon jovi? no one i know except for my sister. yet some how, everyone knows the words and whether you like it or not you WILL be singing along. it is this type of environment which loosens everyone up and everyone gets along which is wonderful. (read: girls are easy and even the corniest of pick up lines are usually successful.)
now lets get real, lots of bars are like that and this one probably isnt any more special than another of similar layout, but this one is special to me.
so to everyone partaking in the weekend partying festivities, cheers to you all:
heres another cheers, from my friend paul to all of you:
andddd just for good measure, a cheers from my friend lou, paola, and some girl diana to all you guys
