well today i did the dye test and it did fail that too. i made a post about2 weeks ago where i said my cometic might be blown. my overflow has boiled over once and i'm losing a small bit of coolant. if i do have a leaky HG it's extremely mild. can doesn't overheat, no smoke, etc. even when i did the test today, the blue dye only turned slightly yellow. last time i blew a stocker the fluid went piss yellow.

i think i'm going to try a retorque. i did use studs torqued to 95ft. lbs. i don't know how the hell this happened. the block and head were both vut extremely smooth.

so i'm going to try a retorque and if that doesn't do it i guess i have to pull the head.

where can i get a 1/2 drive socket to fit the studs.

on a side note the only thing i can think of is while i was at etown acouple of months ago, i had the FCD feature on the MAFTPRO messed up and i went a tad lean and broke the cermanic from the sparkplug. i was spraying an ass load of methanol and i think that saved my motor.

maybe i detonated and blew the HG. that is the only thing i can think of.

do you all think the block and head will still be in good shape. i really don't want to have to re machine stuff

I recommend a compression test before and after the retorque. Compare the numbers and draw your conclusions. After putting everything together and before starting it up, check the condition of the oil, and then do an oil change. This is just to make sure your motor oil didn't get water mixed in it. Then check the underside of your oil cap for milky residue. If you want to drive your car, make sure to continuosly check the fluid level and condition (oil condition, specially), or risk rod knock. Good luck.
